Well the die is cast. We are officially registered for our first race. July 19th will probably come fast then we think. We have a lot of training to do to prepare ourselves for our first race. Here lies the question though. Are we smart to do our first race entirely at night? It will definitelydefinitly make for an interesting time. Hopefully we will end up in the right location every time. Its going to be hard to pick references in the dead of night. I will keep you up dated on our training and how things are progressing as we prepare ourselves. We just want to have fun. Spend time together as a couple, and hope not to get lost.

Carries Mountain Bike Arrives
Finally!!!!
Carrie's mountain bike has finally come in from the warehouse and should arrive at Granada Bicycle tomorrow afternoon. We can finally get out and learn what this whole mountain bike thing is all about. Both Carrie and I have never mountain biked. We biked as kids, some 15 years ago. But neither of us has ever been "Mountain Biking" Carrie is afraid of falling off and breaking something. I am afraid of her falling off and giving up. We both know how to run, I have learned how to orienter (Carrie hopes to go out to an SLOC event and learn herself) and now the only thing to learn is mountain biking. I mean paddling a boat can't be hard right? Ya we need to get out there and do it but just don't see that happening any time soon, but we have 3 months before our first race with Bonk Hard Racing, Inc. on July 19th. Oh...I almost forgot Carrie got the Specialized Myka HT Comp and I got the Specialized Rockhopper HT. I have had mine for about a week now and only got out once and that wasn't even on a trail just down some roads. We both hope to get out on a trail this weekend. A local mountain bike club has some group rides and teaches some skills and we hope to get out and hang with them some time in the next week and see what we can learn. Thats it for now, I will let you know how things go with the bike when Carrie gets it.

Cheese Sticks and Hit Training
So Carrie and I have been training and trying to get ready to race our first Adventure Race coming in July. I decided to wait until late tonight (after the kids went to bed) to get out the bike and crank out some hit training. Things worth noting.
- No Explode (GNC) doesn't taste that great and shouldn't be drank on a full stomach.
- Exercising at a vigorous pace right after eating isn't a good idea.
- When you feel like your going to blow chunks make sure you run for it. (I would include picture had I wanted to ruin everyones keyboards.)
